What basking light should i get for a ball python?
should i get a bulb that emmits heat and light or should i get something like a ceramic heat emmiter?
what bulb should i get for a 20 gallon long tank?

Ball pythons are nocturnal and don't require special lighting. Constant bright light would just stress your snake. I would suggest getting a heat emitter or an infrared heat bulb (they can't see the infrared light). I use a 75w Exo Terra Infrared Heat Glo bulb to heat my Ball Pythons 20gallon tank. You should also invest in a digital thermometer if you don't already have one. I wouldn’t worry about a light cycle. A light cycle is not essential to the health of your snake. Ball pythons in the wild spend the day in burrows (where it is dark). Some breeders keep their Ball pythons in tubs that don’t have lighting. Also, in the wild they do feed at night but in captivity it is different. Most captive Ball pythons will eat at any time of the day. I usually feed mine around midday and he has never missed a feeding. If you do want to provide a light cycle, the natural light in your house would be sufficient.
