I am planning to go out and buy a white crewneck sweatshirt, then doing the green myself.

I want to use dye though cause I think fabric paint would stiffen the sweater too much, and I dont want it to change the texture and feeling of the sweater, I just want a green stripe.

Would I be able to go out and buy a tie dye kit, and then use the dye and paint it on the sweater in stead of tieing and dipping? Or do you think fabric paint would work better?
I dont want a spiral effect.

If you have a different suggestion too that would be great.
(I thought about just going out and looking for a green/white sweater to buy, but I think making it myself will be more satisfying, cause theres a specific way I want it.
